Caterina Parisi Sopran

Caterina Parisi was born in Reggio Calabria. She moved to Bolzano, where she began singing-school in Conservatory “C. Monteverdi”, continuing, then, musical studies at the Conservatory “G. B. Martini” in Bologna.

She completed her artistic studies taking improvement singing and acting courses with famous artists like sopranos Gigliola Frazzoni, Wilma Vernocchi, tenor Gianni Raimondi, and M.° Raoul Grassilli. She continues her score studies with music Master Adalberto Tonini, in Milano.

In 1999 May, she was awarded the first prize at the International singing competition -VII Musical Festival “Città del Barocco” in Lecce.

In 1989 she began leading performances singing many times in Italy and abroad.

She collaborated repeatedly with Accademia Vivaldiana Veneziana, the Circolo Lirico Bolognese, the Teatro Duse and the Arena del Sole.

Her repertory includes sacred music (“Stabat Mater” - Pergolesi, “Pétite Messe Solennelle” - Rossini, “Messa di Requiem” - Verdi) ; The great melodrama from ‘700 to ‘800 (“Otello” and “Traviata” - Verdi, “La bohème”, “Tosca” - Puccini,”Elisir d’amore”-Donizeti “Il barbiere di Siviglia” - Rossini) and several arias by Bellini, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi. Besides arias from Manon - Massenet, Adriana Lecouvreur - Cilea, Romeo et Juliette - Gounod, Traviata - Verdi, Lucrezia Borgia - Donizetti, Die Zauberfloete - Mozart, till to “Siete Canciones populares espanolas” by De Falla, “Opera 55” by Dvorak, Lieder by Schubert and american musical and canzone napoletana.
